The Wii Motion Plus And The Potential For Some Of The Best Wii Games Yet by Vikram Kuamr

The Nintendo Wii was the first to break the long-established mold when it comes to console gaming. Previously, console games were all about games played using wired controllers that involved pressing buttons and using directional pads to control all the on-screen action. With the Wii, however, Nintendo decided to create a whole new market in the console gaming sector by radically changing the type of gameplay involved.

Instead of wired controllers, Wii games make use of wireless controllers. This gives gamers a whole new freedom of movement while they play. For regular consoles, this isn't a big deal because players rarely need to move more than their hands in order to play. With Wii games, however, wireless controllers are an integral part of the gaming experience. This is because Wii games require that gamers move much more than their fingers in order to play.

One of the most popular Wii games, for example, is the Wii Sports, which includes a variety of sports games such as golf, boxing, and tennis. When playing these games, the player must hold the controller and use it as they would when playing the actual sport. In tennis, for example, a player would swing the controller as they would swing a real tennis racket. The motions are then duplicated on the screen. Without wireless controls, this entire system of gameplay would be quite impossible, and players would be constantly getting tangled in wires or accidentally damaging their consoles by yanking too hard on the wires.

Existing Wii games have proven to so popular that Nintendo almost immediately started working on improvements to the motion sensing technology incorporated in the controllers. This would allow the system to sense smaller and more delicate movements, improving the overall quality of gameplay and opening up a whole new range of possibilities for games that require greater finesse and dexterity. This is how the Wii Motion Plus was developed.

The Wii Motion Plus is an add-on for the original Wii controller, and comes in the form of a small rectangular block that attaches to the bottom of a regular Wii controller. With the Wii Motion Plus, Wii games will become even more intuitive and accessible, as motions are rendered on-screen with greater accuracy.

Released in June of 2009, the Wii Motion Plus is usually sold in a bundle with the new Wii Sports game, Wii Sports Resort. This includes 12 new Wii games that all take advantage of the increased motion sensing sensitivity provided by the Wii Motion Plus add-on. New games include fresh titles and sports such as archery, swordplay, and wakeboarding.

While previous Wii games were already extremely fun and exciting to play, the Wii Motion Plus add-on makes games even more interesting. Gamers are sure to appreciate the greater amount of control they have over games that will allow more enthusiastic players to develop greater levels of skill with their favorite games. With the Wii Motion Plus, Nintendo is set to continue its domination of the gaming console market, even as the other console manufacturers frantically scramble to develop their own motion sensitive controllers and games.

Nintendo Wii Deals by Russell Nguyen

So here are some deals I found on the Nintendo Wii scrounging around the web on those web sites I listed on the side. It seems like for now Nintendo won't be lowering its price since it was launched. For awhile now supply has kept up with the demand. So there are some deals out there. So here are 2 deals that I found. There is also one suggestion that isn't a deal, but if your too lazy to go buy it in the store then this is the perfect website to buy it from. Keep in mind these are for new systems. I don't really like to do the whole refurbish thing.

1. Walmart

There deal right now for the Nintendo Wii system is a pretty sweet deal. Not only does it include the whole bundle for $249.00, but it includes an extra free game. There is a list of 30 games to choose from. None of the games highly rated or even close to being that, but it is a free game nonetheless. There is a shipping & handling cost which isn't too bad. So the total cost of the Nintendo Wii Bundle plus the bonus game comes out to $257.97. Now this deal is only online and it is a limited time offer. So this deal won't last very long considering that the Nintendo Wii outsells all the other consoles every month.

2. Toys"R"Us

Here is another great deal for the Nintendo Wii system. If you buy the Nintendo Wii system for $249.99, then you will get a free Mario & Sonic At the Olympic Games. Not only will you get that game, but you also get a 3-in-1 Player's Sports Kit for Nintendo Wii. They are attachments that resemble a tennis racket, baseball bat, and golf club you put on the Nintendo Wii Remote. I don't think it enhances the experience and it is kind of a waste. I would not recommend buying this product alone. But it is included for free and adds overall value. The shipping & handling cost for everything is a bit pricey, but it is still worth purchasing for everything that is included. The total comes out to be $265.95. So roughly $8.00 more than the Walmart purchase. This offer ends July 11, 2009 so you better hurry. From the looks of it this can be only purchased online, but make sure to check Toys"R"Us to see if you can pick it up.

3. Newegg.com

One of my favorite sites to purchase electronics. They usually have great deals and for most items the shipping & handling is free. The delivery is outstanding and they usually deliver 1 day ahead of schedule sometimes. This isn't really a deal. It doesn't come with any extras with the bundle, but it is $249.99 with no shipping & handling fee. So if your too lazy to go to the store to pick it up, then order it online at Newegg.com. Always dependable and fast delivery.
